Mélanie MARCELMélanie MARCEL

Mélanie Marcel is the founder and CEO of SoScience, an organization harnessing the power of science and technology to generate positive impacts for the people and the planet. Prior to SoScience, she worked at the forefront of human-machines interfaces first at NTT Basic Research Laboratories and then at the Brain & Spine Institute (ICM).

Through her experience in the laboratory, she gained the conviction that our scientists' skills would serve a greater purpose in a more participatory and impact-centered research model. Through her passion for exploring the intersection of science and global impact, she became a national leader and a recognized expert on Responsible Research and Innovation, a radical transformation of the research system.

Mélanie Marcel published her first book on the topic in 2017, she is an Ashoka Changemaker (2014), won the Social Entrepreneur's National Award (France, 2015) and is one of the youngest expert nominated by the European Commission to evaluate its research policy (2016). She holds two master's degrees, in Physics and Neurosciences from ESPCI ParisTech and Paris Descartes University.
